Irita Fullmer Simmons Powers

Irita F. Powers joined her husband, Hayden, on Saturday, June 2nd.

Born Sept. 17, 1919, in Mortonville, UT, she was a longtime resident of Salt Lake City. She enjoyed camping with Hayden, and since their retirement, they traveled throughout the western states, Canada, and Mexico. At home, she enjoyed arts and crafts and creating her own knickknacks which she sold at craft fairs.

She was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters Pat, Blake, Keith, and Dawn. She is survived by her sister Betty Corley (Ray Layton); and her three sons Larry (Simmons), Terrence, and Randall; and four grandchildren.

Her wish was to help others by donating her body to the University of Utah Medical Center. Thanks from the family to the entire staff at Heritage Bennion Care Center.

Services will be Tues., June 5th, at noon at the gravesite at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
