Actress. She was a versatile performer whom created eccentric, whimsical and spunky characters in plays, film and television for more than 60 years. A familiar figure on the Broadway stage, she appeared in over 40 productions. For feature films, her many credit's included "The Enchanted Cottage" (1945), "The Late George Apley" (1947), "Cheaper by the Dozen" (1950), "The Quiet Man" (1952), "The Court Jester" (1956), "Barefoot In the Park" (1967), "Daisy Miller" (1974) and "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988). She was also a regular on the television series "The Snoop Sisters" and was awarded an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
