Actor. His motion picture and television acting career spanned from the 1940s to the 1960s. Well-known for playing the role of "Mr. Ziffel" on the 1960s television comedy series' "Petticoat Junction" and more notably "Green Acres", he also had a long-running role in the landmark television series "Gunsmoke." He was the great-uncle of actress Tea Leoni.
