Motion Picture Cinematographer. He was an award-winning cinematographer whose career spanned from the 1920s to the 1960s. He was nominated for Academy Awards an amazing eighteen times. He won Best Cinematography Oscars for his influential work on "The Black Swan" (1942), "Wilson" (1944), "Leave Her to Heaven" (1945), and "Cleopatra" (1963). He is one of only four cinematographers to have a star on the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame. Married to actress Mary Anderson.
