Lewis H. Pearce died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at University Medical Center in Princeton. He was 81.

Born in North Brunswick he had lived in Kendall Park since 1960.

He was a plumber with Local #432 in New Brunswick and Local #9 in Tinton Falls of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union for 44 years before retiring in 1992.

Mr. Pearce was a member of the Union Lodge #19 F&AM in North Brunswick; the Scottish Rite, Valley of Trenton; Knights Templer Trinity Chapter #17 in Plainfield; Royal Arch Masons and Scott-Mount Vernon Chapter #4 of South River.

He was active as assistant scoutmaster of Troop #100 of the Boy Scouts of America. An avid hunter and fisherman, in both fresh water and salt water, he enjoyed golfing, traveling and socializing wherever he was.

He had served in the United States Army during the Korean War in Occupation Germany.

Mr. Pearce was predeceased by his parents Lewis Pearce, Jr. and Florence Disbrow Pearce and his sister Ethel Mupo.

Surviving are wife Anne Meszaros Pearce; his son Kenneth Pearce and his wife Evelyn of Helmetta; his daughter Rita Lecessi and her husband Ralph of Kendall Park; and four grandchildren - Cynthia and Christine Pearce and Steven and Marissa Lecessi. He will be missed by his pet cat Cutie.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, North Brunswick. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in East Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Thursday from 5 PM to 9 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Aplastic Anemia Foundation in memory of Lewis Pearce at AA and MDSIF Foundation, 100 Park Avenue, Suite 108, Rockville, MD 20850
