VASHTI (LEWIS) DRURY
Vashti was the daughter of Mary "Polly" (Willits) and Caleb Lewis. She married William Drury, the son of Edward and Jane (Burns) Drury, on 7/1/1840, in Wayne County, Indiana before migrating to New Boston, Illinois where they became very prominent citizens of Mercer County.

Vashti was a popular name in her family, she had an Aunt, at least two cousins and possibly a niece all with the name "Vashti". Vashti is also a well known name in Mercer County as she and William had a college in Aledo named after them. After the college closed it was first used as a Military Academy and is now known as "Vashti Villiage", an assisted living facility.

Edward S. Drury, b. abt 1857.

He married Fannie F. Garard 5/3/1877 in Mercer County, and they had a son named Clair, b. abt 1878.

Vashti's father Caleb Lewis served as a member of the Indiana legislature a number of times.

Both of her parents are buried in the Franklin Cemetery, Washington Twp., Wayne Co., Indiana.
