Mrs. Arne was formerly Miss Alice King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. King of this city. She was just 20 years of age. She was born and reared in this city and was a graduate of Sacred Heart school and the Immaculate Conception academy. Countless friends will mourn her untimely death. She was married to Courtland Arne September 7, 1916. The baby daughter who died yesterday morning was the only child.
Those who survive are the husband, who is ill with the flu but is recovering, the parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. B. King, a sister, Miss Margaret King, and two brothers, Edward and Harry, all of Davenport. Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo Arne of West Third street, father and mother in law of the deceased, also survive.
The double funeral is announced to be held Thursday morning at nine o'clock from Sacred Heart cathedral with internment in St. Marguerite's cemetery. Mother and baby will be buried in the same casket.
