With a host of sorrowing relatives and friends in attendance, the funeral of Dean Emmett Breeden took place Sunday afternoon from his home in Istrouma Heights. The cars left the home at noon for his old home at Pride, in this parish, and he was laid to rest in the Sandy Creek cemetery there, with the services conducted by Rev. M. B. Buckley, pastor of Istrouma Baptist church. The funeral was among the largest ever held in the Pride community, and there were innumberable beautiful flowers.

The active pallbearers were W. P. Lee, C. C. Mitchner, W. C. Watson, Dewey Hollingsworth, Jessie James, Roy Beherns.

The honorary pallbearers were J. C. Toler, Tom Boatner, Bill Gerald, Lewis Day, Prentis Carpenter, Dell Ashford, West Carpenter, Joe Bryson and Tom Alexander.

Mr. Breeden passed away last Saturday at Our Lady of the Lake sanitarium after an illness of three weeks from pneumonia. He was born in Tangipahoa parish, but the family moved to Pride when he was 13 years of age, and he had resided in that community until he came to Baton Rouge to live in 1923. He had been an employe of the Standard Oil company for a number of years.
