Formerly chief engineer of the Pennsylvania Railroad. Mr. Brown's first railway service was in 1861 with the United States Military Railway. In 1862 he went to the Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad as assistant engineer. In 1864, he joined the Pennsylvania, where he remained until his retirement in March, 1906.
