Per information from the Northampton County and Moravian Historical Societies, it appears William died in connection with the Minnesinks uprising on December 10, 1755. It's unknown whether he was a massacre victim or a member of the volunteer company raised to quell the uprising. A "William Castin" is listed among Northampton Co. settlers in 1755, but his exact residence is "unknown."
All five of his known children were "minor over the age of 14" in 1762 when his estate finally went to probate, making their birthdates between about 1741 and 1748. That makes it likely that William was born at least as early as 1720, and probably before the family left Ireland.
The name of his wife is unknown.
