The Chico Enterprise, Chico, CA, Monday Evening, December 12, 1921. Ernest L. Almstead Dies After Illness. Ernest L. Almstead, 40, died at his home in 5026 First street last night after an illness. Death came on his fifteenth wedding anniversary. He was a native of California and a member of the Woodmen of the World lodge. Funeral services will be held from the Fetters & Williams chapel at 2:30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Galen Lee Rose, pastor in the Christian church, will officiate and interment will be in the Chico cemetery. Great Oak Comp W.O.W. will assume charge of the graveside services.
Deceased leaves a widow, Mrs. Flora Almstead, a step son Jess Chandler; a mother, Fanny Almstead of Berkeley; two sisters, Mrs. E.W. Sutcliffe of Sacramento and Mrs. Eileen Piggott of Berkeley; and two brothers, F.A. Almstead of Baker City, Ore., and L.T. Almstead of Chico.
