I knew Marie when we went to high school together in Evergreen Park Illinois. She was always a happy, fun-loving girl! I have not been in touch with her for many years, we graduated in 1975. I was saddened to learn of her passing.


Marie E. Byrd, age 52 of Huntsville, Tennessee, departed this life on Monday October 4, 2010 at the St. Mary's Medical Center of Scott County.

Born November 1, 1957 she is the daughter of Catherine Sauer Coglianese of Chicago, Illinois and the late Albert Coglianese. Marie devoted the past 18 years of her life to Huntsville Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she worked as a C.N.A., Ward Clerk and in office administration. She was a very loving wife and mother and helped whomever she could. She will be sadly missed.

Marie was of the Catholic Faith.

She was preceded in death by her father Albert Coglianese.

Survived by her mother Catherine Sauer Coglianese of Chicago, Illinois; loving husband of 30 years, James E. Byrd, Jr; children, Aubrey Hutson of Knoxville, TN, Amanda Bertram and husband Wayne of Oneida, TN, and Adam Byrd of Huntsville, TN; step-sons, James V. Byrd and wife Deena of Goshen, Ohio and Jimmy Schoeb and wife Catherine of Ireland; grandchildren, Paige Hutson, Caleb Cooper, Hanna Byrd, Gini Byrd, J.D. Byrd, and Jamie Schoeb; step-grandchildren, Lucretia Brady, Gabe Bertram and Maddy Bertram; brothers, Albert Coglianese and wife Marci of California, Johnny Coglianese, Danny Coglianese and wife Ann Marie, Frank Coglianese and wife Maureen all of Illinois; sister, Jackie Bylon and Husband Rich of Colorado. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 8 p.m. in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Bowling and Rev. Ledford Byrd officiating. At Marie's request her remains will be cremated.

West-Murley Funeral Home is serving the family of Marie Elizabeth Coglianese Byrd.
