Laura Elizabeth Horton, 93, of Woodlawn, passed away Monday, January 6, 1997 in Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born June 2, 1903 in Carroll County, daughter of the late Jeff Moore and Pauline Roseberry Moore. She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Gertrude Goad, Hillsville, Alta Sumner, Woodlawn, Allene and Ivan Shockley, Hillsville, Opalene and Chester Combs, Mt. Airy, N.C.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Raymond and Alta Horton, Hillsville, Clearin and Lovelene Horton, Hillsville, Clyde and Pauline Horton, Woodlawn; two sisters, Beatrice Hancock, Draper, Louise Yearby, St. Louis, Mo.; 22 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, 1997, at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville with Rev. Omer Vass officiating. Interment will be in Henley Cemetery.
