Fowler McCutchen Courtney, 108, of Kingstree and widow of J. Sammie Courtney, entered into eternal rest October 27, 2010.
Born June 12, 1902, in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Dudley and Emma Thompson McCutchen.
Mrs. Courtney graduated from Cedar Swamp School, was a homemaker and a member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church, where she served in many capacities as long as her health permitted.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son James Edward Courtney and surviving are: her daughter-in-law Ethel R. Courtney, of Eutawville; three grandchildren, Babs (Drew, deceased) Geoly, of Greenwood, Gail C. (John) Brubaker, of Awendaw, and Jamie (Tenley) Courtney, of Eutawville; four great-grandchildren, Stephen Geoly, of Greenwood, Shannon Geoly-Horn, of Fayetteville, NC, Trey and Dallas Courtney, of Eutawville; four great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Burial: Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
