Helen Gannon

Helen Gannon, formerly of Mishawaka, passed away in the company of her family on September 20, 2010, in Lakeland, FL.
She will be honored at a Graveside Ceremony at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
Helen was a long-time legal secretary working for Bodine and Bodine, and the St. Joseph County Commissioner's Office in the 70's and 80's. Known by many as "Mother of Elves", she was an avid collector of miniature gnomes, elves, dwarfs, and other little people. She loved to travel, take in the sun, and the taste of a nice, cold margarita.
She was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Leonard, son Patrick Brian, and husband Leamon Harness of Arkansas.
She will be greatly missed by her best friend Ed Vaughn, her sons Michael (Maureen) of Arizona, John (Terry) of South Bend, Jim of Illinois, and daughter Teresa (Bob) Nelson of California. She was the proud grandmother of ten, and great-grandmother of seven.
A special Christian service to honor her life was held in the home of her sister Mary Ann. Her sister Janet, and many friends and family members attended. Attendees of the 11:00AM ceremony are requested to meet at 10:45AM in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, IN.
