C53rd Indiana Infantry from Pension Plan also found on Rootsweb a listing of Soldiers buried in this cemetery. From the pension plan it stated that he died in Memphis Tennessee at the time of death was serving under General Townsend.

His son James (1842-1862) was also killed in the Civil War and is buried at Shiloh
