COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Marietta Bean Harris, 81, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. today, Monday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harris died on Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Standing Stone Health Care Center.

She was born on May 7, 1917, in Putnam County to the late Melvin Arnold and Nancy Ella Kuykendall Bean. Mrs. Harris was retired from the State of Tennessee at TTU. She was a member of Northeast Church of Christ, coming from Antioch Church of Christ.

Her family includes five daughters, Peggy Pippin, Jo Delaney, Betty Jones, and Patsy Randolph, all of Cookeville, and Gail Harris of Madison; a sister, Alene Peace of Ohio; eight grandchildren, Johnny Parrott, Michelle Stewart, Greg and Chris Pippin, Jim Jones, Jamie Bennett, Gerald Randolph, and Gina Henry; and six great-grandchildren, Zachary Stewart, Stevie Bennett, Amanda and Sarah Randolph, and Brittany and Cody Henry.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Freeman Harris; two brothers, Clyde and James Bean; and three sisters, Lucille Bean, Eva Rose, and Willie McKee.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Harris' grandsons.

Bros. Paul Wilmoth and Ralph Jackson will officiate at the services.
