KNOXVILLE — Pattie Orr Snodgrass , born Feb. 29, 1916, in Jonesville, Va., to the late George Wesley and Golden Barton Orr , passed away Monday (Oct. 27, 2008) in Knoxville.
Pattie was a graduate of Virginia Tech University and a long-time resident of Gate City, Va., where she worked as an Agricultural Extension Agent serving Scott County, Va., for many years.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dale Carter Snodgrass ; sister, Elizabeth Orr ; brothers, George W. Orr , Jr. and Marion V. Orr .
She is survived by her son, Thomas C. Snodgrass and wife, Ellen; daughters, Elizabeth S. Spencer and husband, Mitchell, Judy S. Luttrell and husband, John; grandchildren, Janet Ayers, Gail Snodgrass , Joyce Troxler, Brita Spencer Pratt, Chris Spencer, Laura Leonard, Adam Luttrell; great-grandchildren, Katherine Givens, Mateo Troxler, Gavin Pratt and Samuel Leonard.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Gate City United Methodist Church in Gate City, Va., today at 2 p.m.
A private burial service will be held at a later time at the Orr Family Cemetery in Jonesville, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 409 N. Broadway, Knoxville, Tenn., 37919 or the Salvation Army in your area.
