He was a believer of the Pentecostal faith, served proud as a United States Marine, and worked as a coal miner until he retired.
Preceding him in death were his son, Orville Eugene Sinkhorn Jr.; his mom and dad, William Oakley and Onvia Sinkhorn; two brothers, David Sinkhorn and Ray Sinkhorn; one sister, Joyce Hall; brother-in-law, Hoover Howard; and mother-in-law, Lucy Epperson.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Frances Sinkhorn; daughters, Melinda Sinkhorn, and Jennifer and Steve Payne; grandchildren, Ashley Denise Payne, Andrea Nicole Payne and John Dalton Payne; three sisters, Tommie Howard of Pineville, Phronia and Irvin Lawson of Morristown,Tenn., Charlsie and Louie Weston of Morristown,Tenn; very special brother and sister-in-law, Danny Ray and Fairanna Epperson of Tazewell,Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Doris Sinkhorn of Pineville, Janice Sinkhorn Walters of Morristown,Tenn., Ruby and Thurman Hurst of Middlesboro, Ada Hoskins of Pineville, Diane and Jimmy Ray Caldwell of Stoney Fork, Dorothy "Tootie" Black of Somerset; brother-in-law, Albert and Carol Epperson of Carlisle, Penn.; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held at the Brooks-Durham Funeral Home in Pineville. Family visitation will be Wednesday, October 27, from 5-6 p.m. and friends from 6-9 p.m.; and all day Thursday, October 28 until 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 29 at 11 a.m.with Brother Van Johnson and Brother Phillip Jackson presiding.
Burial will be at the Payne Cemetery, East Pineville. Nephews will serve as pall bearers. Honorary pall bearers will be very special friends James York, Rex Callebs, Rick Washington, Mike Sproles and Wayne Farris.
