Mrs. Corbett was born Oct. 16, 1950, in Lamar County, Ala., to the late Daniel Bradford and Ruby Gray O'Mary Merchant. She attended Sulligent High School and worked previously as a seamstress with Reltoc Manufacturing. She was a member of Oakes Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Sue Stanford and Lovie Ann Compton.
Survivors include her husband, Bennie Corbett of Sulligent; daughter, Tina Lucas of Sulligent; stepdaughters, Vickie Tilley of Ethelsville, Ala., and Betty Sue Murphy of Hazelgreen, Ala.; stepson, Andy Corbett of Columbus; brothers, Wayne Merchant of Vernon, Ala., and Sammy Merchant Sr. and David Merchant of Sulligent; sisters, Tommie Lee Foster of Sulligent and Patsy McGee of Millport, Ala.; one grandchild, six step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
