COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Veleda Roena Bennett, 88, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. on Wed., Dec. 13, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Tues., Dec. 12, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bennett died today, Dec. 11, 2000, at Masters Health Care Center.
She was born on Oct. 5, 1912, in Putnam County to the late Fain and Carrie Ray Netherton. Mrs. Bennett
was a homemaker and a member of Stevens Street Baptist Church for more than 40 years.
Her family includes her husband, Luther Bennett of Cookeville; a son and daughterinlaw, Bill and Ella Morgan of Sparta; a brother, Doss Netherton of Cookeville; three sisters, Velna Eldridge of Michigan, and Vivian Riddle and Millie Huffer, both of Cookeville; a granddaughter, Kim White of Brentwood; and two greatgrandchildren, Phillip Morgan White and Sydney White.
