Alice Elizabeth (Garrott) Gentry, 86, of Noblesville, IN, formerly of Battle Ground, died on Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville. Born April 1, 1913, in Battle Ground, she graduated in 1935 from Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in home economics. On March 6, 1940, she married Herbert Gentry in Battle Ground; he survives.

Mrs. Gentry was the first Home Demonstration Agent in Hamilton County. She also operated a ceramic shop in her home for several years. She was a member of Prairie Farmerettes in Noblesville, Hamilton Handicraft Club, Battle Ground Order of Eastern Star, and she was a 4-H leader for more than 20 years.

Surviving with her husband are a daughter, Nola (Mrs. Ned) Gentry Derhammer of West Lafayette; and a brother, John Garrott of Battle Ground.

She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Edith Baker Garrott; a son, Don Gentry in 1966; and a brother, Glenn Garrott
