CONNEAUT — Audrey E. Rowbotham, age 86, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Saturday afternoon, Sept. 1, 2007, at The Villa At The Lake in Conneaut, after a year's illness.

Audrey was born in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of Floyd H. and Anna (Cadman) Woodworth. She was a proud mother and homemaker.

A Conneaut resident for over 60 years, Audrey moved to Conneaut during the establishment of the Astatic Corporation in 1944.

Audrey was a devoted and beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose family has fond memories of love, laughter, delicious food, and fun during get-togethers at her house. She had a servant attitude, and even when ill, did her best to continue serving those she loved so much, and avoided asking them to serve her in return. One of the greatest joys in Audrey's life was being able to hold her two great-grandchildren, Dawson Thomas Rowbotham and Myla Joy Rowbotham.

Among Audrey's activities were PTA, Cub Scouts, and Conneaut High School Band Boosters. She was speaker at the CHS Senior Mothers' Reception in 1964; and was a representative on the Conneaut Library Board. She was a member of Conneaut Boat Club, Nauti-Gals; Ashtabula County Genealogical Society; Conneaut Historical Society; Sorosis Club; and Mother's Club. She was a fifty-year member of First United Methodist Church of Conneaut.

Her hobbies included gardening, sewing and quilting, golfing, boating, and genealogy. She also enjoyed attending the luncheons of the Astatic retirees, and had kept a scrapbook of Astatic history since is establishment.

Audrey will be deeply missed by her four sons, Karl (Patti) of Brookfield, Ohio, Tim B. (Brenda) of Conneaut, Scott F. (Bonnie) of Painesville, and Garth of Powell, Ohio; five grandsons, Tim F. of Independence, Ky., Mark (Ayeisha) of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Jeff (Kristy) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Scott T. (Janel) of Ashtabula, and Michael of Conneaut; and two great-grandchildren, Dawson Thomas Rowbotham of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Myla Joy Rowbotham of Ashtabula. A sister, Beverly (Bob) Burdick of Conneaut, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Arthur W. Rowbotham, in 2005; a brother, Arthur Woodworth; and her parents.

Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with the Rev. Chuck Graham, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Conneaut.

Audrey's family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday evening, Sept. 5, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The family would like to thank The Villa At The Lake and Hospice of the Western Reserve for their loving care during Audrey's illness and death.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
