Billie Joseph Mair passed away peacefully at his home on October 23, 2010, with his wife by his side.
He was born January 5, 1930, to George A. and Annie B. Mair, in Heber City, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Ada L. Mair on August 15, 1955, and was later sealed in the Provo LDS Temple.
In 1959 Bill moved his family from Heber City to Midway, where he operated Bill's Service and later Mair's Garage and there enjoyed the rest of his life.
In his youth, Bill worked on many local farms. After high school, he joined the armed services where he was assigned to a unit serving in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1953 as a Sergeant E6.
Bill was an active member of the LDS Church and his community. He has served in many capacities in the Church including Sunday School Presidency, Scouting, and a work mission through the LDS Employment Center.
In the community he served in the Lions Club as president, in the Boosters as president and on the town council. You could always find him working at Swiss Days while helping out in the Ward Booths.
Bill was the inventor of the Mair Dutch Oven Lid Lifter. He was very proud of his invention and wanted to share it with everyone.
