OBITUARY
Agnes Elizabeth (Anfinson) Thompson was born on April 23, 1907 in Eagle grove, Iowa, the daughter of Eddie and Anna (Hanson) Anfinson. She was baptized and confirmed at Eagle Grove Evangelical Lutheran Church. She attended schools in Winnebago County, Iowa and graduated from Waldorf Lutheran College in Forest City, Iowa. She moved to Atwater, Minnesota with her family in 1925 On August 31 1929, she was united in marriage to William Thompson of Kandiyohi at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Atwater. She was an active member of Green Lake Lutheran Church of Spicer, where she held various offices in the women's organization. Agnes died last Friday morning at the Christian Nursing Center in Willmar. She had attained the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 4 days.
She is survived by her four sons: Ardell and Betty Thompson of Atwater, Wesley and Sylvia Thompson of Atwater, Terrance and Audrey Thompson of Echo, and Kinsley and Karan Thompson of St Michael, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her one brother Roy Anfinson, of Bentonville, Arkansas and three sisters, Inger Anderson of Willmar, Gladys (Mrs. Rudy) Strom of Sun City Arizona and Fern (Mrs. Chester) Levin of Atwater. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William in 1993, an infant son Oscar, and three brothers: Elmer, Anfin, and Hans.
The interment will be in the church cemetery. Following the services at the grave, all relatives and friends are invited back to the church basement for a time of fellowship and a light lunch. Those not going to the cemetery may go directly to the church basement and await the return of the family.
