Elmer Thompson
The Rev. Dennis Gray officiated at funeral services held January 20 at the Green Lake Lutheran Church in Spicer for Elmer Thompson, Spicer, who died January 16, 1977 at the Bethesda Nursing Home in Willmar.
The Rev. and Mrs. Trygve Dahle sang a duet during the 'services. interment followed at Green Lake Cemetery. Jerome Thompson, Douglas Thompson, Robert Thompson, Jeffrey Thompson, Gary Snelling, and Stephen Thompson served as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Elmer Hagen, John Anderson, Morgan Kloster, Martin Hawkinson, Roy M. Carlson, and Victor Skoglund.
Elmer Thompson was born September 8, 1899 in Green Lake Township of Kandiyohi County and was married to Olga B. Monson of Hawick October 24, 1922. He was employed by Mobil Oil Company in Kandiyohi for 39 years and retired in 1964.
He is survived by his wife, Olga; five sons, Ellsworth of Willmar, Charles of Redwood Falls, Robert of Redding, California, John of Benson, and DonaId of Alexandria; and two daughters, Mrs. Norman (Marjorie) Snelling of Lakewood, California and Mrs. Betty Olson of Pasco, Washington.
Also surviving are two sisters, Ellen and Mrs. Walter (Manda) Skoglund, both of Spicer; and three brothers, AIbin of Spicer, William of Atwater and Newman of Anmmdiale.
