Shane Mitchell, age 53 of Millsboro, Delaware passed away on October 24, 2010 at his residence. Shane was a retired supervisor with 17 years of service for Venture Milling Co. in Seaford, Delaware. He graduated from Sussex Central and VoTech in 1975. He was a Civil War and History Buff, 49ers fan, enjoyed golfing, and Thanksgiving with his family. He collected coins, and was a horseshoe and dart Champion. Shane enjoyed traveling especially Alaska. He was a "Professional Pop-Pop". His father, James T. Mitchell in 2003, precedes him in death. He is survived by his wife, Jean E. Mitchell, mother, Ann Long of Millsboro, Delaware, three children; Sara D. Brown and husband Myron of Millsboro, Delaware, Phyllis "Pebbles" Hall and husband Darnell of Georgetown, Delaware, Kimberly Ann Anderson and husband Brent of Exton, Pa. one sister; Trudy Lorraine Cordrey and husband Joe of Bishopville Maryland, three brothers; Parris D Mitchell and wife Donna of Selbyville, Delaware, James T. Mitchell Jr. and wife Ellen of Millsboro, Delaware, Peter Sheldon and wife Mona of Millsboro, Delaware, 4 grandchildren; Mitch, Kaiya, Gabe "Shane-Man", and Kade, his beloved dog Mac, and numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family that he cared for very much. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, Delaware where friends may call from 9-11. Rev Robert Hudson will officiate. Interment will be in Mariners Bethel Cemetery, Ocean View, Delaware. Arrangements By Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, Delaware.
