Eldon Allgood, age 73 of Nebraska City passed away on Saturday; October 23, 2010 at the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE.

Clyde Eldon Allgood was born on June 10, 1937 in Auburn, NE; the son of Clyde Orville and Ellen Pearl (Applegate) Allgood. He attended school in Peru, NE and graduated from the Peru Prep High School with the class of 1956. He then attended Peru State College.

He was united in marriage to Marilyn Jane "Mary" Tynon on July 23, 1960 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Auburn, NE. He opened Eldon's Cafe in 1961 and owned and operated the café for some eleven years. He later was the manager at the American Legion Post #8 for five years and at the Elks Club for 11 years. Eldon worked at Larson Motors in Nebraska City for 18 years from 1987 until his retirement in 2005.

He is survived by his wife Mary Allgood of Nebr. City; four children: Steven Allgood and wife
Imelda of Chicago, IL; Teri Beth Vann and husband Kevin of Omaha, NE; Mark Allgood and wife Nancy of Gretna, NE and Bret Allgood and wife Kathy of Nebr. City; nine grandchildren: Erik, Ethan, Steven, and Ashley Allgood, Sydney Vann, Abigail, Alexa, Luke and Kylie Allgood; siblings: Darrell Allgood and wife Jan, Marty Allgood, Laquita Rubenking and husband Roy, Ron Allgood and wife Candy and Deb Sammons and husband John all of Nebr. City; Pearl Rainforth and husband Dave of Lincoln, NE and Arnie Allgood and wife Kathy of Nacogdoches‘, TX; brothers and sisters in law: Mike and Kathy Tynon and Tim and Helen Pugh all of Peru, NE; Neil and Carol Hayhurst of Arlington, VA, Pat and Deb Tynon of Moran, KS and Rich and Lisa Tynon of Vermillion, KS; special niece Nancy Bartek and her children Will and Cate; numerous nieces, nephews, other family and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father on May 9, 1969, his mother on May 26, 2007, an infant brother Orville, father and mother-in-law Andrew and Margaret Tynon and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Bill Tynon and his wife Jeanne.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nebr. City with Fr. Michael McCabe celebrating the Mass. Burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Cemetery at Peru, NE followed by lunch and fellowship at the VFW Club in Peru.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by a rosary/prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the church
