Funeral services for Minnie Elizabeth Kirk, formerly of Golden, were Monday morning at Woods Memorial Chapel, 1100 Washington Ave. She died Thursday, May 13 at Lutheran Hospital and Medical Center after an extended illness. She was 85 years old. The Rev. Gene Robinson of Foothills Christian Church in Arvada officiated the services for Mrs. Kirk, who most recently lived at 6105 Johnson Way in Arvada. Pallbearers were James Grout, Charles Watson, Ernest Chappell, Charles Laßue, Wayne Wittner and Chellis Sheffield. Hie chapel service was given by Golden Rebekah Lodge No. 8 of Golden. Mrs. Kirk was buried in Golden cemetery. Mrs. Kirk was born July 11, 1890 in Kansasville, Wis. She was educated in Denver schools and had been married to John Boom and Sam Kirk. A former dressmaker, she had spent most of her life in the area, where she was a member of Golden Rebekah Lodge No. 8 and the American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include her son, Leonard Boom of Arvada; a brother, George W. Kane of Lakewood, several nieces and nephews, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
