This ship was a radar equipped PFF (Pathfinder) and was designated to lead another group on a mission to Schweinfurt. However the B17 crashed on take off near Yeldon England while transferring bases. Twenty-one were killed including the crew of eleven, eight other servicemen and two children killed in a hut near the runway.
