Caldonia Bagwell was born in Georgia, and married L. B. Caldwell on December 23, 1887. She had joined the Missionary Baptist Church at Appalachee in 1875. Mrs. Caldwell was survived by her husband and all 10 children.

Rev. L. B. Caldwell of Paxton followed his wife in death in September 1926, death caused by heart failure. He was a school teacher for 32 years, and a Baptist pastor for 12 years.

Children listed in censuses include: Mary, Carrie E., Paul, Donia Lou, Therza M., Willie Eugenia, Guy W., Hugh Elvin, and Cleo L.
