Darrell Shaw Glover Jr., 64, of Indianapolis and formerly of Rushville, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2010.

Darrell was the beloved husband of Elaine Frances (Bellew) Glover.

He is survived by three children, Brent Dean of Kansas City, Mo., Angela Rene' of Folsom, Calif. and Paul Wayne of Indianapolis; siblings, Henry Darwin Glover (Priscilla) of Rushville and Daniel Wayne Glover (Margaret) of Hot Springs, Ark.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell Shaw Glover Sr. and Ruby Pearl (Gilpin) Glover, both of Rushville.

Darrell was a member of the 972nd Army Corps of Engineers, Reserve Unit, based at Fort Benjamin Harrison, for 20 years. He was a mechanic for Freightliner for 13 years. In July 2009 he retired after 10 years as a mechanic from Walmart in Fishers, where he was honored as an Associate of the Month several times. Later in life he became well known for his love of grilling and cooking, and famous for his fried chicken wings. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved the History Channel.

Services were held Friday, Oct. 22 at Legacy Funeral Center in Indianapolis.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial gifts may be made to the Blue Star Mothers of Indiana, P.O. Box 572, Kokomo, IN 46903 for military troop care packages.
