I have several things to add to my gg grand uncle's memorial. First, family records and census, tax records, etc. show that he was born in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois although there is conflicting information about the date January 28 (20) 1941 (1842). January 28 1841 has the most primary evidence. He died in Landing, Oneida, Idaho, United States. However, the date of his death in the obituaries is 7 November 1912, not 10 May 1912 as written on his stone. The stones were made later and are probably transcription errors. Since the obituaries were written at the time of his death, they are probably more accurate. Here are two transcriptions of his published obituaries with corrected data in brackets:

WILCOX'S BODY ARRIVES
Ogden, Nov. 8--The body of William Christopher Wilcox of Warren arrived in Ogden yesterday from Landing, Oneida county, Idaho, where he died Thursday morning. Accompanying the body were Walter Wilcox and L. A. Skeen. It was taken to the Lindquist chapel, where it will lie in state between 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted by Bishop Wayment at the Warren meeting house Sunday noon.

Born in Adams county [Nauvoo, Hancock], Illinois, January 28, 1831 [1841]. Mr. Wilcox came west in 1882. He settled in Alamo county [never a county named Alamo--should be Almo, Cassia county], Idaho and engaged in stock raising until 1896, when he moved to Warren. He remained a resident of Weber county until four months ago, when he went to Landing, Ida., to live with a daughter. Six children survive him.

William C. Wilcox married Lucinda Pricilla Paden on 22 May 1872 [Monona County Marriage Index has 22 May 1873] in Onawa, Monona, Iowa, United States. They had children: Malinda Viola, Silas Henry (Howard), Roliette Lesley, Margaret Francis, Martha Olive, Oscar Allen, and Clara Alida Wilcox. The last two preceded him in death.

William and Lucinda divorced and each remarried and had children. William married 2nd. Lena Johnson 14 August 1896 in Ogden, Weber, Utah, United States and they had a son, Walter Almarion Wilcox the following year.
