August M. Ihde, 78, retired rancher, of Lewistown, died in a Billings hospital Monday morning. He had been a patient since Oct. 3.
Born Feb. 26, 1889, in Peshtigo, Wis., son of Mr. and Mrs. John Ihde, he moved to Washington in 1905 and to Montana in 1910. He took a homestead in 1914 at Cat Creek.
He married Ellen Clark, May 24, 1916, in Moore. They lived in Moore until returning to
the homestead in 1922. They moved to Lewistown, Sept. 1966.
He had been an election judge in Franz precinct 1926 to 1964 and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Lewistown.

Survivors include the widow; four sons, John of Lewistown, William of Sacramento, Calif., Raymond of Lovell, Wyo., and Earl of Worland, Wyo.; three brothers, John of Onconto, Wis., William and Emil, both of Peshtigo; five sisters, Mrs. Emma Schwanke and Mrs. Margaret Martin, both of Chicago; Mrs. Minnie Shaver of Menominee, Mich.,
and Mrs. Lulu Anderson of Peshtigo.
