Services for Mr. Russell E. Howle, age 87 of Mineola, Texas, are set for 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 27 at the Lake Fork Baptist Church with Bro. David Smith and Bro. Phillip Gilbreath officiating. Burial will be in the Rock Hill Cemetery near Quitman, Texas under the direction of Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola. Mr. Howle died July 25 in Dallas, Texas. He was born March 31, 1922 in Gamblin, Texas. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during WWII and was a Prisoner Of War for 13 months. He later was a basketball coach, teacher and superintendent of schools. He was a member of the National Ex-POW's Association and a member of the Stalag 17B Ex-POW's. He was also a member of the Lake Fork Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Howle of Mineola; by one son and daughter-in-law, Kim and Melissa Howle of Amarillo; by one son-in-law, Simon Terrazas of Big Spring; by two sisters, Beatrice Boyd of Quitman and Ellena Moss of Euless; by six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday evening at the Beaty Funeral Home in Mineola from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice or the Gideons. Beaty Funeral Home P. 0.
