Barbara Ann Owens, 61, of Lafayette, a former resident of Monon and Wheatfield, died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Monon.

She was born May 14, 1942, to the Rev. Jesse and Florida Stone Bailey. She married Clem A. "Sonny" Owens, at Rensselaer on September 25, 1963. Sonny- 4/8/1941-2/23/2022

She was a graduate of Teft High School.

She was a member of the Milroy Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Clem of Monon, her mother, Florida Bailey of Rensselaer; a son, Raymond (Janet Jungles) Owens of Lafayette; daughters, Mary (Ralph) Durflinger of Monon and Leslie (Terry) Robbins of Rensselaer; a brother Charles (Peggy) Bailey of Lafayette; sisters, Geraldine (Claude) Napier and Brenda (Paul) Denham, both of Rensselaer, and Susan (Jim) Well of Medaryville; and nine grandchildren.

Her father Rev. Jesse Bailey and a sister are deceased.

Funeral services were Thursday, July 24, 2003, at United Baptist Church of Gillam Township with Pastor Johnny Miller officiating.

Burial was in Independence Cemetery.

Jackson Funeral Chapel, Rensselaer was in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ronald McDonald House charity.
