Genevie E. Hildebrandt, 87
Genevie E. Hildebrandt, 87, of Summerville, died Tuesday February 5, 2008, at Jefferson Manor in Brookville.
Born October 2, 1920, in Summerville, she was the daughter of John T. and Mary E. (Bird) Thomas. She was married to Herman Hildebrandt. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was previously married to W. Reed Himes who preceded her in death in 1999.
Mrs. Hildebrandt was employed as a caregiver at Jefferson Manor until her retirement. Prior to working at Jefferson Manor, she worked at Rola.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Shannondale, and also attended the Church of Christ in Roseville.
Mrs. Hildebrandt was an avid country and western music fan. She also enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and puzzle books.
Survivors include two sons and their wives, Kenneth F. and Barbara Himes of Summerville and H. Lee and Sandy Himes of Shannondale; a daughter and her husband, Sally I. and Howard Smith of Northville, Mich.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary L. Wolfe of Brookville and a friend, Burton Swineford of Summerville.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hildebrandt was preceded in death by four brothers, Freeman, Archie, Jessie and John; and seven sisters, Dicie, Maggie, Athlene, Loretta, Juanita and Olga.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, February 8, at the Furlong Funeral Home in Summerville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Shannondale.
Memorial donations may be made in the church.
