Major H M Folsom, one of the most prominent lawyers of East Tennessee, up to within the past few months, when he was incapacitated from further work by falling over a precipice, died at his home yesterday following an operation. Major Folsom was 77 years of age. He was the father of Mrs Mm H Thomas, of this city, who had been with him for several days before his death.
Major Folsom was a gallant officer in the Confederate army and has enjoyed the esteem of his friends and neighbors without regard to political affiliations.
His funeral will take place today at the old home where Major Folsom was born and spent his long and useful life.
