"One day Mrs. Goodwin and myself were shopping in Los Angeles and the young lady who waited on me had to go and hunt [for] the articles that I wanted. As she left us, Mrs. Goodwin said, did you notice the ring she had on her little finger? I said no, but when she returned I asked her if I might see her ring. She held out her hand, and as it was just like mine that Mrs. Goodall sent me, I looked and said 'Allah'u'abha'. The young lady almost jumped over the counter to take me in her arms, as she was so happy to find someone who knew the Message, as she had just come to Los Angeles from Chicago, and was very lonesome. That young lady was Grace Rutherford, who later became Mrs. Roscoe Lamb." (from a Baháʼí History by Rosella Dennis, March 1st, 1934)
