Dean Peck Bowman, 88, of East Ridge, Tennessee and a native of Remingotn, passed away on Wednesday, March 28 in a local health care facility.
He was born to the late Harold H. and Ada (Peck) Bowman in Remington.
A financial consultant with Salmmon Smith Barner in Chicago, her retired in 1987. He also worked for Louisville Textiles as a representative in Chicago and New York City.
A U.S. Navy veteran for 4 1/2 years, he served on the USS McNulty, a destroyer escort, during World War II.
He was a life-long member of the Christian Church in Remington.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Thatcher Bowman of East Ridge, and brother Wendell C. (Florence) Bowman.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Alice Katherine Williamson of Morocco.
A memorial service will be held later in Remington. Memorials may be made to the Christian Church in Remington, the Salvation Army or any favotie charity.
Arrangement were handled by Wann Funeral Home in Chattanooga, Tenn.

A memorial service for Dean Peck Bowman and Margaret Craighead Thatcher Bowman was held on Friday, June 9, 2006, at the Cemetery Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Dean was born on October 19, 1912, to Harold and Ada Peck Bowman in Monticello, and spent his childhood in Remington. He was a member of the Remington Christian Church.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of 4.5 years on the USS McNulty destroyer escort during WW II. He worked for Louisville Textiles and was a consultant with Salomon Smith Barney in New York and Chicago. He retired to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he passed away on March 28, 2001.
Margaret as a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee where the two were married in 1960. Margaret was born August 3, 1928, and passed away on October 14, 2005, in Chattanooga, where a small memorial service was held by her cousins and attended by her niece and nephew. The couple was buried together per their wishes. The service was conducted by Pastor Randy Sparks.
Surviving family member attending were: Florence Bowman-sister-in-law; Pat & Oscar Reyes, niece; Mike & Carol Williamson-nephew and Scott Bowman-nephew.
