"Mr Eugene H. (Bud) Amidon, 80, of Goldendale died Thursday, Dec 19, in Portland. He was born Dec 23, 1909 at Edmonds, Washington to Gene and Sadie Amidon. The family moved to Moro in 1911 where they farmed.
He graduated from high school at Moro and attended Western Oregon University at Monmouth, Ore. On Mar 22, 1941, he married Alda White and they moved to a ranch near Goldendale the same year.
Mr Amidon was named cattleman of the year in 1976 and was a member of the Cattlemans' Association, the Goldendale Grange, the Wheat Growers, Euclid Lodge No 121 AF & AM of Moro and the United Methodist Church in Goldendale.
Survivors include his wife, Alda and three sons, Howard, Chuck and Karl all of Goldendale; two daughter, Diane Jones of Natches and Alda McNeeley of Enumclaw; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild and two sisters, Marie Hoskinson of Goldendale and LeNore Narkus of Pendleton.
Funeral services wreheld Saturday, Dec 22 in the Chapel of Knosher-Erdman Funeral Home with Pastor Vince Hart of the United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was in the IOOF Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Harold Hill, Ray Hill, Arnold Nygaard, Jim Hill, Stan Marlow and Ken Hill. Honorary pallbearers were his grandsons Steve Jones, Charlie Amidon, Pace Amidon, Luke Amidon, Michael McNeeley and Robert Jones."
