He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age, he was a faithful member of the Magnolia Church of Christ until his health failed and he was relocated to Omaha Nebraska, Chicago, Il., and later to Merrillville, In. to live with and be cared for by his loving children.
He gave a long part of his life working in public service for the Road Department in Marengo County, Alabama. He was a living example of working long, arduous hours to provide for his family. He really enjoyed working his fields, raising farm animals on his many acres of land and hunting while living in Alabama.
He was united in holy matrimony with Willie Guthrie Hudson, January 10, 1937. She preceded him in death in 1984.
To this union four sons were born, Clinton (Josephine) Agee, of Princeton La. , Christopher (Ruby) Agee of Omaha, Nebraska, Cleveland (Mary) Agee, Jr., of Merrillville, Indiana and Thaddeus (Jacqueline) Agee of Merrillville, Indiana.
Two daughters, Annetter (Bobby) Jenkins of Rutherglen, Va. and Willie Nell (John) Winfrey of Omaha, Nebraska, all whom remain to mourn his passing and remember his legacy.
He leaves to cherish his memory twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and one great- great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A special thank you to the caring staff at St. Anthony Hospice in Crown Point, IN. where he spent his final days. He will be greatly missed by friends and family whose lives he has touched and will be fondly remembered for his "quick" wit and profound wisdom.
