Son of William Harrison "Bud" Ashby and Elizabeth Betty Monroe. Brother to Hays Belmar Ashby, Edward Ashby, William Presley Doll "Pressie" Ashby, and Harry Gwinn Ashby. He married Maggie about 1891 and who I believe died in child birth along with their first child in 1892. He later married Sarah Sally Sallie Viller about 1894 in Louisville, Kentucky and they had 8 children. Minne E Ashby (f), Elizabeth Ashby (f), Charlotte Mae Ashby (f), Leona Liberty Ashby (f), Viola F Ashby (f), Charles Ashby (m), William Theodore Ashby (m), and Thelma Ashby (f).
