Isaiah "Paw Paw" Robinson, 78, of 310 Elizabeth Street, Buchanan, Mich., entered into rest at 6:09 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 26, in the Lakeland Medical Center, Niles, Mich.
Isaiah was a member of New Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Buchanan, and had retired from the Clark Equipment Company in 1977.
Isaiah was born on Sept. 27, 1920, in Jackson, Miss., to Ray and Ora Robinson. He married Emma Bell Collins in Jackson on March 8, 1942, and this union was blessed with six children. Isaiah was preceded in death by his wife, Emma; his parents; and by a son, Calvin Ray Robinson.
He is survived by two sons, Isaiah "Zip" Robinson, Jr., and Sweet C. Robinson, both of Buchanan; three daughters, Lillie (Bill) Booker of Grand Rapids, Mich., Patricia Jo Robinson of South Bend, Ind., and Diahnn (Mike) Anderson of Buchanan; two brothers, Robert Robinson of Topeka, Kan., and Mose (Ida) Robinson of Rock Island, ILL.; three sisters, Rose (Jim) Elliot and Bertha Clark, both of Rock Island, and Alberta (Robert) McCarthy of Jackson, Miss.; and by 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
