Judith Gap Man's Rites Are Today
Harlowtown – Funeral services will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Congregational Church in Judith Gap for James Harvey Lackey who died Sunday. Burial will be in the Judith Gap Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 8, 1860, in Ezel, Ky. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Lackey. He went to Minnesota in 1881 and taught school 15 years in Minnesota and Kentucky. On May 30, 1890, he married Clara Louise Buelow.

Three children survive: Mrs. Basil Warren of Spokane, Mrs. Fred Johnson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Marie Anderson of Judith Gap. Other survivors are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His wife died at Tenstrike, Minn., Sept. 6, 1906)

He came to Montana and settled on a homestead four miles south of Judith Gap in 1908. On May 8, 1912, he married Juniatta Marston at Havre. In 1915 they moved to Judith Gap where he operated the telephone exchange and later engaged in the mercantile business until 1949 when he retired. Mrs. Lackey died Sept. 10, 1947.
