Glen R. Strove, 70, died early Saturday afternoon, Dec. 7, 1996, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, following an extended illness.
He was born April 21, 1926, at Mount Aubum, the son of Frank and Ruby Byous
Struve.
After graduating from high school, he served his nation during World War II with the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged after 20 years of service.

From 1972 to 1979, he was the owner of the Tip Top Tavern in Vinton and later served as manager at Vinton's American Legion Bar.

September 3, 1969, he married Hannah Hibbs in South Dakota.
He was a member of the Emil Dutler American Legion Post #177 of Mount Auburn; the 40 & 8; the Fleet Reserve Association; the Vinton Country Club; and was a member of the Keystone Turners for 30 years.

He loved golf, gardening, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye sports fan.

Survivors include his wife, Hannah, Vinton; four daughters: Merry Dee Struve, Cedar Rapids; Kristina Neblett, Port St Lucie, FL; Valerie (Forrest) Padon, Boone, NC, and Becky (Michael) Crabtree, Des Moines; one son, Timothy Struve, Vera Beach, FL; eight grandchildren; two sisters , Betty (Dean) Grimm and Bernice (Robert) Rhoads, all of Vinton;
his brother, Ken (Darlene) Struve, Vinton; and his brother Weldon's widow, Jan Struve, California.

In addition to his brother, Weldon, he was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, Roger Dale Struve.
