J. Kenny Cox, 86, who resided on RFD 1, Woodlawn, died at his home Friday afternoon, Oct. 25.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Victoria Ayers Cox; two sons, Ira P. Cox, RFD 4, Galax, and Ubirt Cox, RFD 1, Woodlawn; four daughters, Mrs. Sid Jones, RFD 4, Galax; Mrs. E. P. Nichols and Mrs. Orphia C. Roach, both of Fries, and Mrs. Opal C. Dalton, RFD 1, Woodlawn; 42 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Coulson Church of the Brethren Sunday at 2:00 p. m. The Rev. John Dillon conducted the services.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
The body was removed from Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, to the residence at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, and was placed in the church one hour before the services.
