He as born May 13, 1899, in Pulaski County and was the son of the late Iziah R. and Nannie Hufford Albert. Mr. Albert was an electrician with the Norfolk & Western Railroad and retired December 1, 1966. He is a member of Ashlar Masonic Lodge #125 A.F. & A.M. of Shenandoah and LurayRoyal Arch Chapter #4. He lived most of his life in Shenandoah and Elkton and was an active member of the Elkton United Methodist Church. In 1987 he moved to
the Tidewater area, living in Chesapeake and Newport News.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Gladys L. Albert, of Newport News.; three daughters, Bettie Albert White, of Newport News, Lois J. Huddle, of Chesapeake, Joyce Richardson, Palm Desert, Calif.; a son, Robert P. Albert, of Baton Rouge, La.; a sister, Lois R. Hall, of Pulaski; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted 10 a.m. Thursday from the Elkton United Methodist Church by the Rev. David Reynolds. Burial will be in Eastlawn Memorial Gardens near Harrisonburg.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Kyger & Trobaugh Funeral Home at Elkton.
