Thursday, November 14, 1968
ROBERTS - William Everett Roberts, son of Katherine and Edward Roberts, was born in Lucas, Iowa, on August 11, 1906. He had been in failing health the past several months and passed away at the Lucas County Memorial Hospital in Chariton on November 4, 1968.
Everett was converted and baptized into the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on June 23, 1933.
On October 6, 1937 he was married to Mae Blue. To this union two children were born.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mae, one son, Ronald, of Baton Rouge, La., one daughter, Kay, of Milwaukee, Wisc., one daughter-in-law, Patty Roberts, and one son-in-law, Terry McGee, also three grandsons whom he loved dearly, Micky and Alan Roberts and Sean McGee.
He also leaves his aged mother, Katherine Roberts, two sisters, Ethel Angove, of Lucas, Laura Moses, of Moline, Ill., one brother-in-law, John Moses, two nieces, Phyllis Thompson and Marilyn Cain, several cousins and a host of friends.
Everett was very civic minded and helped the community in many ways. He has been Mayor of Lucas for the past 12 years. He was a feed salesman for Moorman Mfg. Co. and made many dear friends throughout the county.
Services were conducted by Elder Dr. Raymond D. Zinser and Elder Edwin Boyd at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 7, 1968 from the Beardsley-Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Goshen Cemetery.
