Bernard A. Kohler, 85, of Owego, passed away Sunday, February 3, 2008, at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre, Pa., after a period of declining health. He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Eleanor. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Helen; two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael (Mike) and Kathy, Geneva, N.Y., Bernard (Bernie) and Cindi, Lehigh Acres, Fla.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Jeanne Brutvan, Binghamton; a nephew and his wife, Richard and Diane, Binghamton; a nephew, Gene, Binghamton; a niece, Pam, Ohio; a grandnephew, several cousins; and his motorcycle buddies, Ralph and Karl.

Many will remember Bernie and his passion for motorcycles. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Army Air Force, a Life Member of V.F.W. Post 1371, Owego, and a member of Flemingville United Methodist Church, Owego. Bernie was a retired IBM employee with 45 years of service and a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family. The Rev. Donna Martin, Pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Flemingville United Methodist Church, 650 West Creek Rd., Owego, N.Y. 13827 or to V.F.W. Post 1371, Owego, N.Y. 13827. Arrangements are by Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
